Gladys School of Community Health Work and Development

Founder:

Mrs. Gladys Samarasinghe

The School was born of a desire to extend the frontiers of community work and development, including the much neglected aspect of improving mental well being. The School recognizes that better understanding of many things is required to improve our community life. Therefore, it provides formal courses that contribute to improved understanding of issues relevant to community development. Residential facilities are available. At the end of each course successful students will be awarded a Certificate of Competence but many of the courses will be for what happens during rather than at the end. The School propagates the particular vision connected with Nest. Training women to earn a livelihood by not having to leave home is encouraged.
